How Dropping Temperatures Can Affect Your Vaping Device
Posted by Kayleigh Kivell on
As the weather gets colder, your vape device may start acting a little different than usual, and most people will blame their device, but actually we can blame the dropping temperatures!

Common Issues
- Thicker E-Liquid
- Cold temperatures increase viscosity, making vape e-liquid denser and slow-moving
- This can lead to poor wicking, weaker vapour production, clogged airflow and dry/burnt hits
- Reduced Battery Efficiency
- Low temperatures slow down the internal chemical reactions of lithium- ion batteries
- Batteries drain faster, deliver weaker power output and can show low-battery warnings prematurely
- Condensation and Leaks
- moving a cold vape device into a warm indoor space creates internal condensation
- Extra moisture can cause gurgling, minor leaking, muted flavours and spitting

Tips For Cold Weather Vaping
- Keep Your Device Warm
- store your device in a pocket close to your body heat when outdoors
- Prime Gently
- take soft, unpaired “priming pulls” to help loosen cold, dense oil before firing the device
- Bring To Room Temperature
- let your vape normalize indoors before charging or using it heavily
